Privacy, in plain language.
Stay Intentional is designed so that your training record is yours. This page describes what the app stores and when information can leave your device.
What stays on your device
Your workout templates, exercise details, workout sessions, set logs, bodyweight entries, app settings, and locally generated insights are stored in a SQLite database on your device. The app does not require an account. It does not include advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs.
Optional connections you control
iCloud sync (iOS)
If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, supported workout data is synced through Apple CloudKit’s private database between devices using the same Apple ID. This feature is off by default. Active workouts stay on their originating device until they are finished. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
Apple Health (iOS)
If you enable Apple Health access, Stay Intentional may read bodyweight and step-count data to show it beside your training. It may write bodyweight entries and completed workout sessions that you choose to record. Health data is handled under Apple Health permissions and your device settings.
Backups
When you create a backup, you choose where to share or save it using the operating system’s share sheet. Backups are encrypted with a recovery password by default; you can choose an unencrypted backup instead. Anyone with an unencrypted backup file may be able to read the workout and bodyweight data inside it. Recovery passwords are not retained by the app and cannot be recovered.
What we do not do
- We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
- We do not operate an app account or a central app database for your training data.
Support and feedback
If you open a public support issue, only include information you are comfortable sharing publicly. For a bug report, your app version, device model, and a short description are usually enough. The public project repository is hosted by GitHub, whose privacy policy applies to information you submit there.
Changes to this page
If these practices change, this page will be updated with a new date. Questions or corrections can be reported through the project’s public issue tracker.
